Absolutely. My favourite chair is on its third repair. There’s a story in keeping it going.

How do you recruit, train, and reward unpaid community moderators?

I found out that it is not easy to manage volunteer moderators. I have given members mod privileges and within two weeks, half of them vanished into the thin air or they start abusing their power on regular users. Since you are not paying them, how do you keep unpaid mods motivated and loyal without the whole forum falling into total chaos?

Wow, I encountered this same problem a few weeks back. I got at least one new member who is genuinely interested, but I’m afraid unless you pay them, they do seem to wander off.

Its great to see that I ain't alone. We've both encountered this issue. Well good on, keep it up.😀

It can be hard even for longtime established forums to hang onto volunteers. People expect to get something in return these days. Sometimes they could get as a reward unlimited private messages, a bigger signature size than regular members get, extra credits that the site has, etc…
