mobile gaming hardware vs budget consoles?
I thought about placing this in the gaming section but i decided to drop it here since it's about hardware. Mobile processors have made massive improvements recently, with brands utilizing advanced MediaTek and Snapdragon chipsets that can handle high-end gaming and complex emulation with ease. We are now at a point where a mid-range smartphone can comfortably emulate classic PlayStation 2 or GameCube titles on the go. Do you think mobile devices are becoming a legitimate alternative to traditional handheld consoles, or are there still some limitations?

I think that there are still limitations. Smartphones may have high-quality chipsets. However, they still do not possess hardware that could possibly run heavy games. This is why I do not think that it would be a good idea to compare smartphones with gaming consoles like Playstation or Xbox. There is a big difference between emulating a game and actually running a heavy game on a big screen. Hardware of Playstation and Xbox is on another level.

Hmmm, am currently using a smartphone that runs on G200 processor, and with it so far i can comfortably play PSP games, PS1 games, some PS2 games (have tried only one so far)
And most Nintendo games like N64, 3DS, and probably GameCube (haven't tried this yet, but i read it could run it with the right settings.)
A smartphone that comes with the latest snapdragon processor can actually handle high end games like where winds meet, neverness to everness which are considered PC level games and even run a PS3 emulator and a PC emulator with ease. The major problem are the phones that don't come with coolers.
Mobile processors like MediaTek Dimensity have completely changed the game. You can play GameCube and PS2 games directly on your phone and with high resolution. That is something very surprising to me. Buget consoles cannot compete because you can't carry them to wherever you are going.
